I've searched for a way to "ping" online services like technorati.com, just like blogs do. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything about it.
Is there any way a "ping" could be generated everytime there is a new post?
Thank you.

Thanks, Dr.Jeckyl. I'll give it a try and I'll let you know.
I know you're right about that! I have to change that entry in the language file...
Thanks for visiting.
Hi,
Is there any way to embed a YouTube movie in a post? Here is a sample of what the embed code is like:
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7bcV-TL9mho"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7bcV-TL9mho" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Thanks.
For your information, I did search, several terms, but probably missed the topic. Thanks just the same.
Hello,
I've been asked by several of the members of my board to bring back the capability of changing text size within a post. We used to be able to do that in phpBB with the text formula, but it doesn't work in punBB. Any suggestions to implement this?
Thanks.
Thanks, Rickard. I'm sure it will work great after you take care of it.
When you click the "Show all Posts" from a member you get a list with all the posts from that member, right? However, there is no way to go to the a chosen post! You either go to the start of the thread or to the end of it. If there is a thread with, say, 200 posts and you have a member with post 120 on that thread you have to scroll through all the pages until you find it, making the "Show all Posts" facility completely useless.
Shouldn't we go to the single post we clicked directly? Or am I missing something and haven't figured out?
Thanks.
I'm so sorry this is taking so much time! Actually, I think this is a great plus for punBB users to get their forums exposed. It's a pity it's taking so long.
Thank you all for your input. Now, less than a month after the conversion, the protest are residual. Mostly, the protests are based around the PM system. People were very used to the phpBB PM system, being alerted by email and all that. Actually, in the beggining I tried to get rid of the PM system but was pressured not to do so. Everything else is much more quite and, so far, I feel my main purpose has been achieved: improve the quality of the posts. I know this is very subjective but with all phpBB graphics it looked like the board was more appealing to "less serious" members than it is now. I don't know, maybe it's too soon too reach this conclusion.
The board is working perfectly and I'm very pleased with it. I think that, in the end, the members will give me reason.
Also, with almost 1200 members, I thought it was time to concentrate on quality instead of quantity. Wish me luck.
Any news on punBBig new home?
Paul, thanks for your help. Still not working with those suggestions, unfortunately.
That's what I understood in the first place. Here is the complete code I've tried:
/* 2.3 This is the line above the signature in posts. Colour and background should be the same */
DIV.postsignature {border-top-color: #FFFFFF}
.pun HR {BACKGROUND-COLOR: #FFFFFF; COLOR: #FFFFFF}
Only after getting no change through .pun HR I tried another approach. However, no one had an effect!
Hi,
I'm trying to change the color of the line above the sig, but I'm getting confused. I included this CSS, but it's not showing:
DIV.postsignature {border-top-color: #FFFFFF}

If someone can guide in the right direction I'd be delighted. I most be doing something wrong, but can't find what! Thanks.
That's good news! When do expect it to be up and running?
It's off for almost a day now! Does anyone know what's going on?
I have just converted my board at http://www.johnlennonforum.com to punBB. Although I opened the discussion to the moderators group and, later, in the open board for all the members to give their opinion, I still get a few members complaining about the change.
While I never expected to please everyone with this choice, I don't understand why people complain so much about something we do that we are really convinced was the best decision. Although they are only a few, I seem to be running out of arguments with some, to whom, in my opinion, it's all resumed to the fact that they were used to phpBB and nothing else.
I believe many of you have also been through this process and what I'm looking for is to have an open discussion on how to minimalize the side effects on members (and the board itself) of changing the software.
If we all share our experiences, maybe we can help all the others thinking about doing the same.
Thank you.
Remove the "all" from the import section at the head of stylesheet and that should fix your IE6 problem.
Thanks a lot, Paul. Absolutely right.
Yes, I did add it to PunBBig. I guess it's only a matter of time until it is listed.
As for the styles issues with IE... Of the 3 color schemes/style I designed, only the one named Lennon is not showing correctly. The other 2 - Isolation and OceanChild - are OK. There must be a few diferences in the CSS between one and the other 2.
Thanks for your input on the other browsers, Paul.
Thanks for that link. By the way, it looks like you're registered. Thanks.
I just found out the styles are not working with IE. Can someone give me a hand here and try with other browsers? Thanks.
Hi,
I just concluded the conversion of my board at John lennon Forum from phpBB to punBB. Have a look around and tell me what you think. There are more variations to the default style, but you'll have to register to try them, of course.
The conversion was a pain in the a**. First, with a database over 100Mb, the server seemed to interrupt the procedure at diferent points each time I executed the conversion. Then I decided that I should do the conversion on my home computer and then upload the converted database. After several errors, I found out that my mySQL version at home was more recent than the one at my server. Duuh...!!! Only after I backed up with backwards compability I was able to put everything to work. And it looks good.
Now, it's punBB's time to prove my community that it was worth it! It isn't easy to tell everyone they'll stop using the software they are so used to. Anyway, I think I made the right choice.
Thanks
Sorry, I had the wrong permission for the member I was testing with. Thanks for the prompt reply.
Hi, I'd like to make the moderating team able to get the reports through the internal system without using email. As far as I know, by defeult only the Admin gets the reports. How can this be changed.
Thank you.
Hi,
I used lcf's guide to integrate punBB in Wordpress in the slightly changed Red-Train theme. This is my first attempt at both softwares, so don't expect much.
Check http://www.palpita-me.com and then click "Fórum" on the right menu.
