Or you could use images. Just set a background image somewhere in the stylesheet.
Rickard - I thought about background images but they arent cached in IE so that would add a lot to my bandwidth I think. Another guy started a similar site and using just a basic forum is already having bandwidth issues. Mine wont have AV or Sigs to keep the size down.

You'd have to have your styles the same name as the teams. Then use $pun_user['style'] to output the style/team name in the header.
You might want to actually get some members before making 120 styles...
HAHA yeah normally that would be a huge risk but Ive been talking to guys on a really big corporate site for years and I figure I would start off with around 100 posters.
Name the style sheets after the team? Do the style sheets allow spaces in the names? ie. Oklahoma Soooners

the default right now is 'Southern California - Trojans' colors and Id like to add that name above or below the banner

well I went at it a different way. I set my banner as a background img per this link http://punres.org/doku.php?id=dev:style … go_via_css
and it still has a padding or margin inside the header. Also from what I saw here background images arent cached by IE so it will draw that image from my server with each post in my forum. That wont do. So Im back to trying to make it work through editing the main.tpl this sucks.
oops sorry I had it set on a different style. Now look at the banner and see its shifted right and up. Id like it to sit right on the headaer menu with no gaps.

OK I found the div#brdheader and I got the code in. Looks good but ther is still like a 5 pixel border sticking up. How can I remove this?

2. LOL that was dumb of me. Its right there. Spent to much time messing with this I guess.
1. Where or how do I do that? I think I may have already done it once when messing around and it left a blank header area(since text is removed) so I had a blank box with a picture on top.

Thanks. I saw that before but I didnt understand the last post in that thread so I had to find another way (main.tpl) which leaves me with the problem for different styles.

1.Is there a way to remove the border at the top around the picture without it removing the lines seperating TOPICS, POSTS, RECENT POSTS etc?
2. Where can I add padding to the top of the forum and the left side? I just want to add a couple pixels pad to move the forum off the browser frame.
3. Where can I remove the pad from the top of the menu so that the football picture is sitting directly on the menu?
Ive tried messing with the cs files but I cant seem to get these done.

Awesome thanks. Got it to work. No I forgot how I got the pictures in there. Say do you know a way to remove the title text in the header in the style.css instead of the main.tpl? I want to have another style besides this one that WILL use the title area text.
Im trying to change my header background color to black to match my website. I changed the main.tpl to take out the title and insert my pictures but I cant figure out how to change the TOP part of the header to black

Im not sure what you mean by shell? Where is that? Is it something in the open like the browser? Sounds like someone could just go in there and change it anytime and jack up my forum?
I use frontpage and I dont see anywhere to use chmod. I know you guys probably use FTP programs like ws_ftp but I dont so is there anyway that you might know of to do this in frontpage?
