General discussion topic seems pretty dull. Time to inject some life into here.

What genere of music are you into?
Any specific bands?
Note: Dose not have to be an english band. Forign bands rock!

I think he means flat file storage. About being faster: I Doubt it, because you are going to need a lot of files. If you only have one file, then problem is with bandwith. If all our users are using the same file at the same time, its gonna be slow.

Is there anyway to have punbb's css file to stop accepting external css commands?

The reason I am asking is because When I intigrated punbb into a site that already uses css, punbb was ignoring its own css comands, and follwoing the pages css comands.

Cause of a harddrive crash, I needed to reinstall Linux, so I decided to go with slackware. Did the full install. I have appache running, however, in the terminal window, when I type, "mysql start", I get this :"Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysql.sock' (2)". Downloaded the latest stable version of mysql, and ran "./configure", "make", then "make install". Yet when I try to start mysql, I get the same error.
After searching, I could not find any "mysql.sock" file.
Any suggestions?

The current way is better.

Maybe a link to the forums, or a picture of what the resulting effect is with the css being shown off?

And it would be nice of you if you could write a little "how to" and tell us how you did that work. Im sure most people would appriciate that!

Wow, the most usefull customization I have ever seen!

It would be great if some one were able to get this working before Punbb 2.0 is released.

The reason I consider this a viable solution is because bandwith costs are on the rise latley (from what I have noticed), and many people are out there looking for a light weight phpbb or whatever. They like Punbb but theres allways a BUT. I think this soultion would solve this problem.

As for you Rickard, you would not have to draw the line on what to include, and what to exclude. Anyone who wants to mod it would have no excuses. I really consider this the best solution.

Actaully, I have had a Linux server running on a lan, with Punbb running, and cookies worked fine. Seems like a an IE issue. Try deleting cache, and deleting cookies, and check the security level.

I think your problem now is cookies.

I noticed that there are a lot of people that have signed up for accounts here, but have never used them. Maybe Rickard should send them a batch email saying that there account will be deleted if they do not use the the account with in the next 60 days. I realise that this could take up a large chunk of the sql.

Just a thought.

Main.tpl is the major one.

IF I am correct, the sql dump really dosent effect anything. If the windows did not support SHA-1, then it reverted to MD5, and now Linux is trying to read from a SHA-1 encrypted password. Or, it could be switched around.

Try this, make a new account on the Windows system, and then make another account on the linux system, and then compare the 2 password strings. If they are different, I am most probably correct. If they aren't, I am at a loss.

If I am not mistaken, Punbb used SHA-1 When available, and when its not, it resorts to MD5. Maybe the OS change is aslo a php change?
