Are you going to be modifying the IPB Cali skin for PunBB as well? Seems that you modified it so much that you forgot to add the Cali3D skin creator credits.

Not bad for a glorified portal. Should really try an original design though. wink

It uses the bandwidth of the images host.

This is why alot of the *free* sites don't allow remote linking to images (like tripod, brinkster, and geocities I believe). Just imagine 5 thousand people see an avatar image on your site and they each are a member of two or three forums, and they use the url to your image. Each time anyone views a post made by that individual it steals from the image hosts bandwidth. Insane strain when you think of all the instances.

Oh and BTW: Welcome to the forum big_smile

Sorry for the delay in the development of this skin, but I recently had a nasty hard-drive crash and lost everything. I will be starting over from scratch but will try to keep the clean and clear style to it.

Once again, sorry for the delay

I really just added the logo area, and restructured some of the existing css (and added a bit). Since this one is based using the oxygen style sheet, I will have to tweak the remaining default styles to support the new areas and classes. Kinda like 6 new styles for one template. I tried to do it so that I mearly exagerated what was already there pretty much (trying to keep that PunBB unique look).

I will let you all know when it is completed if you wish. Will not be right off though since I have a 9 to 5 as well. big_smile

Okay e-mail sent. Look for Blue Dreamer preview. Thanks again m8

When you are reading the post inside of the topic, just go down to the bottom of the screen (the box with the Powered by PunBB in it). on the left you should see a "move topic" link; click that. A new screen will show up, all you do now is selct the checkbox to the right of the topic that you wish to move; now click "move".

The next screen that you see will let you select which category you wish to move it too.  big_smile

This is for v1.1
Not sure if it differs in 1.0.1 (sorry if it does)

It's a preview image for a new punbb skin that I am currently working on, so that a preview url could be posted here.

Thanks

would that work with a fixed as well as a liquid based layout?

Further to previous discussions on another thread I have been having a rethink regarding the styling of this board.

The situation it seems is that a significant number of users and potential users people would like to do some more advanced stying or thier own or download distributed styles (this is an assumption on my part largely because of the popularity of skinning forums for other boards). Using templating or anything else which either bloats PunBB or makes it harder to achieve site integration is out.

This is a good point that I agree with. You can get the code as clean and tidy as you can, but some skinners and those that aren't as up to snuff with the current compliant coding will always rip it up and make it do what they want it to do. They are going to want to wrap categories with border images create tons of buttons for the text links......etc..etc; and alot will be screaming for an individual set of templates for each style so that they can make changes to the look of the templates and not have it effect all the others at the same time.

A clean cut board may be great for some, but with the diversity of people out there ("Hey, but this board does this...and that other board does that") even the most pristine coding in time becomes cluttered by needs and wants of users.

It's great to see a group that are trying their best to produce something sleak and clean. Have to find a happy medium in the coding or a flex point where public opinion comes into play (therefore trying not to alienate potential users in the long run).

Just my 2 cents
Peace

My hat is off to the developer of this board, I just installed on localhost for skinning purposes and it went flawless. All functions are working great and navigation between styles is really easy.

And it's fast as heck.

Great job m8!

what are the changes as far as editing styles between 1.0.1 and 1.1?

Hmmm, nothing but 2nd msg here......spam and junk settings are good. But then again, this is hotmail we are talking about smile

I had a problem loging in/registering at this forum.

Seems that I registered and entered the right e-mail addy for the validation password to be sent, but none ever came. So I selected the forgot password option and entered the same e-mail addy and it sent me a new one right off the bat (very wierd). Then I just activated that one and everything was groovy. Just wondering what happened to that first confirmation e-mail?

Anyone else have this problem?
