Thanks, S - I'll put my tech on to this.

Please advise what happens if I delete a user and he re-registers with identical username/email address - will this work?

Please advise why that isn't a PunBB message and how it may be appearring.

Two users are unable to log in: other messages include incorrect password and incorrect username.

Is there a way of seeing what password is held and the messages issued?

BTW, I am the "user" but I have a tech (top class guy; I am ex I.T. btw) and he cannot fathom why these two cannot log in.

I have a growing forum but 3 users cannot log in even if I change password.

They report similar messages - username too similar to existing, password too similar to existing username - none is true.

Any ideas?

OK - will just highlighting and changing a username work?

Great!  How, though - we didn't think Admins could change usersnames.

Of course, I had done that.  Just couldn't read the email address as too faint!

Is there any way to change a username (I know admin can change theirs)?

Thx.

Both!

I need to have username as a "real name" i.e., not a pseudonym - frankly, that can't be done: I'll just ban anyone not using a pseudonym.

But I do need to make email addresses mandatory at registration, otherwise I have no way of talking to a user other than by the forum.

Hope you can help.

I apologise if this has been asked before.

I need to force users to use real names (yes, I know we'll get a zillion John Smiths but I am dealing with idiots) and wonder if it is possible to make email adresses mandatory on registering.

TIA.
