I have a fancy thing going on, At the board Menu some of the links aren't visible fpr the hole time. For example the message link from PM is not used at user A until he gets a message, then the message link is visible and also the message you have NEW Post.
Does the amount of links is imitated at the Boardmenu and how could I make sure that all functions are available the hole time a user is online?
I'm still in trouble with the width of the viewtopic section. is there somebody able to tell me how the id's or classes are named there and specially which class or id limited the float of postright and postleft and why the signature is brighter then the both postright and left.
I have problems to understand why the IE and FF browser differs so much and does somebody maybe knows a guide or a tutorial how to get the both browsers with Styling Sheets in line.

Does anybody have a suggestion whre I had mixed up the code ?

This is the last part I have to change, to have this style sheet working as wished.(in general with some tiny differences within FF and IE)
At that stage within FF I get the post wrapped and within IE the complete posting is visible but postleft and postright are beneath instead of being by side.

At the right site its wrapped. I thought at base the section 6.2 Fixed Table Setup to change the settings from fixed to auto but it does match.
Now I have changed 6.1 Table Basic Setup width from 100% to 150% and one part is solved but others like categories are still unchanged.

What is really required is a markup guide or an annotated markup skeleton which makes it easy to identify which id's and classes apply to each element.
That what I'm asking for, because now a jump from the style sheet to the application changing here and there and it will be worser and worser as longer you try. If you don't have any summery which id's and classes are involved its, embarrassing. Could you please be so kind and send me the list, you as developer should have at least one.
The other hint with the new punbb Release, thats nice to know but I have to finish the development ASAP and would not like to wait until the new release is on the market, with all bugs and testing surrounding with will be necessary.

The oxygen css is not even on the punres.org downloadable. Is that the documentation you are talking about.
Is it to difficult to have 4-6 page explaining the way the style sheet and punBB works together and when you trigger here That wll happens ? And what kind of informations are stored in the base css and in the xx_cs.css
It's impossible because I have developed everything allreday on the minima style but now I have the difficulty that some Positioning in IE and FF are totally different and the biggets problem is that the posts are only shown with 30 characters in the row but I ought to be at least 60 to 80 characters per row.

Go there with IE and with FF and you will see what problems I have and without any documentation how the style sheet works with punbb its a mission "Lost in the sea".
There should be some documentation or is the tought to have different style sheet just in changeng the color?

is there any documentation available, how to make a CSS Style Sheet for punBB, Therefore it is necessary to understand where to change what and what will be the result. It's is frustrating having no documentation at all about the style sheet structure. It makes the development of a new sheet very difficult. I try to develop my own style sheet based on the minima project.
I can't get it correctly, so who could give me a hint:
The display of the posts don't show correctly, the are cuted at the right side. The red area should be used. I'm blind where and which Parameters does I have to change.

Reason why I don't delete the lines, is to have the opportunity to use it again. Could that lines occurs runtime problems ?

There should be a possibility to exchange with the hosting system, therefore you have to establish at site Definition an application Server. Dis you use this functionality, too?
If I have to define the application server I could choice None, ASP2.0, JSP 1.0, and Cold Fusion 4.0. As I understand it correctly none of the three I have to use for punbb, but the system wants to have one choice, what did you do. There is no way to say that the file ending should be php. so cant you use the upload and download functionality therefore?

I don't want to hijack the topic, My problem is a part of the answer werny asked, because I was moving too and had the problem with the database. You are right taht the problem was stored in the config.php file, I changed there the Host name and it works. So changing the config.php is part of the solution, therefore I cant see that I'm hijacking this topic.
Hi I just started a couple days ago to develop a solution with punBB. Firstly I developed everything online via the internet, but at Monday our neighbour cut the telephone line, so I decided to set up a offline development environment. Every thing under Win 2000 because I have no experience with Linux. With the XAMPP Solution I needed 36 hours to get the php, Apache and mysql systems stable, with some little problems still, but I could work now, that's fine. Exception is that the imported punbb cries for the old host, I don't know why and where this parameter is stored, but still that will be a question of time or helpful people here.
So fare so good, now I decided to use a different editor because the one I'm using php Coder still has some bugs and quits several times.
I have a licence for dreamweaver and now ma question:
Does somebody has experience to set-up the punbb environment within dreamweaver, so that I can test the solution with the different browsers, also I will start to develop some additional mods and plugins in the future. What I understood is that dreamweaver could help me to generate different front-end solutions quicker then doing it with a other editor, is this right?

I have to learn about the different forums and how the are structured. Finally I posted it in the German forum too and there I got the quickest answer. At punres.org I summits the answer. Different forums have a different approach, that my learning curve. But the software and the community is great.
there is so much to learn, unfortunately you have to learn it parallel because every minute there are new thoughts and new ideas.
I found the spell checker feature,
that's an perfect solution if you dealing in multilingual environments, install as much languages you are writing and at browser level just click the right mouse and decide which language you are using. Absolute brilliant.
