If you still going by "a simple layout and design." I think the extra extensions are making the punbb forum look unprofessional.

Karma? Who needs karma on a software site, phpbb, SMF and all sorts don't have it... Yes positive karma could help if someone does a good bit of support and stuff but negative karma? you don't want that on a friendly community site! And if you knew who gave you negative karma you would do is negative-karma that user back resulting in cyclical karma giving.

If you install loads of extensions then your have to put them in the punbb package otherwise it gives the impression they are default features, then again your moving away from "simple layout and design"

Then the BB codes on the forum, you don't need all of them for a simple forum, personally you don't need the '...' ones.

When will RC2 be relased? tongue

This is a kind of provocation! smile
No promises on RC2 (if any)

Then i will change to fluxbb again smile

But punbb offers cake!

thats because you have to change it in your profile for yourself.

You have a profile one, where this will change only for yourself, then you have the forum one, where all the members that join up will have that as their standard settings.

I was thinking something similar..

its basicly the same as the multi install that was for 1.2.* but i want it to create a new folder with all the files in each time...

?

think of it as a cake! Your trying to make a cake...

You cant change the ingredients because that what is in the cake. that's what punbb and fluxbb are, the cake... But if you want make another cake, you change the ingredients, that's what punbb will do.

Their is a reason why fluxbb have made them modifications to the fluxbb code, and anatonly* See's this reason and thinks that punbb needs them changes as well.

* Using your name instead of punbb developers because i don't know if the other admins done any work.

A least you are honest and admit your team doesn't develope enything but it will copy FluxBB and be dependant on developement of FluxBB.

I hope you will give credits to them in the bottom? Something like Powerd by PunBB - Developed by FluxBB...

Their is nothing wrong with what punbb are doing at the moment. They could of said to the fluxbb developers that their going to use bits of their code.

Think of it this way, as i can see your a bit thick!

You make a bit of code ( in this case, fluxbb)

Punbb users use it (punbb forum)

You don't expect them to put all sorts of notices on their forum do you?

PunBB breaks 5.a because all FluxBB copyrights are removed.

Smartys is going to speak to them about this.

There is a chance, we will release RC2, applying Paul's new markup to have Pun/Flux CSS/templates compatible.

there is only so much you can do with the way PunBB styling is put together

I disagree. for 1.2.* we only were meant to edit the css of a style, but with 1.3 we can create our own templates meaning that the possibilities are endless, and even with hooks.

no, it was index page.

Just now:

PunBB 1.3 RC > login > http://punbb.informer.com/forums/extern … mp;login=1

After logging in to punbb.[..].org i get redirected to the extern.php of that page.

Index > login > extern.php

just to let you know.

I'm back from a while now and seems that 1.3 still not there. In the meantime I did quite a lot of tests to migrate from PunBB to SMF Forum using the converter provided by SMF, results are pretty good, migration is a one step process and does not required hard work to finalize.
A possible way for those interested in new features wink

Well FluxBB 1.3 RC is being released in... 3 days. !!1 june!!

EDIT: Sorry about editing your post but I didn't want to bump the thread. Its actually Beta3 thats due for release not RC1.

With punbb, you dont know who the developers are, antonly dosnt post much on the forums and their may not be a 1.3 release for punbb becuase the dev team, who ever they are neet to understand how punbb works, what does what..

no you get the folder contece from Easy_Poll-1.1.3 and put it in forum/ so install_mod.php should be in /forum/install_mod.php
