I have used phpbb until now and am in progress of converting the databas to punbb. I have one problem though, and that is the password cryptation! Phpbb is using MD5 what I know of and punbb is using that and another! I changed my password to the same one on both phpbb and punbb and checked the database if they'd be the same; they weren't!
Is the only way to solve this to make punbb just cryptate in md5 or is there another way to solve it?
Richard: are you waiting for the CSS to be ready or are you just waiting for an opportunity to start coding?

hehe, that'll be no problem. Won't install punbb until 1.2 is released.
ok, thank you for the answer! Then there'll be no problems to change the files!
When you've released PunBB 1.2 there will probably be a lot of bugs detected in the upcoming weeks/months. I plan on installing punbb then, but since I want to change the layout and add a lot of new, homemade, features I need to be able to fix the bugs without installing a new version all the time. Will you log all bug fixes somewhere so I, and other people with me, can fix them by our selves? It would also be nice if we (or I) could install the upgrades 1.2.1, 1.2.2 (bigger upgrades than just small bugs) by (our/my)selves.

Speaking of 1.2, how is it coming along? Summer is "soon" ending
Hi,
Right now you can add titles to your forum so the members get different, or "better", titles as they post more messages on the forum. However I think this system is pretty bad since it makes some people spam more than they usually would have done! So, I'm requesting an ad-on to the titles where you can choose either to make titles that is based on the members post count or titles that are based on how long the person has been a member.
I've heard much about register_globals, but don't understand what it is or what to do to protect your sites from this kind of exploits. Can anyone explain that to me or give me a link where I can read it?
Yes, a PM function would be just great.
Any news how it's coming along?
why not wait for 1.2 to go live and then hire someone to change the forums for you?

That sounds good (but it's quite obvious it' is like that hehe)! I don't need to take away that choice, but I don't care it it's not there...
- Language selection (in register.php and in profile.php).
Can you please make a checkbox in the admin control panel if this should be possible or not.
is there any other ETA than "this summer" yet?
hmmm... why do you want to have it this way? I don't see any really good things with it..
ok, thank you for thar quick answer! punbb 1.2 will still be using this easy template right!? so you can schange everything easily.
I'll be building my whole homepage upon the punbb forum so I can use template and login system for all pages and not just for the forum. Do you think this is a good idea? Or maybe I should say: do you think it'll cause me any trouble? Will the homepage be better/faster if I don't use the same style the forum has?
And then another question, but this time about the punbb database; is it recommended to make a new database for the news and comment (and so on) tables, or can I use the same database the punbb tables is located in? Why I ask this is because if all tables is located in the same database I would only need one database connection and you have already set that in your forum code. So if I can use the template (etc) to build by homepage with I don't need to make another connection to another database..
I hope I didn't make the text and the questions to complicated now
I made myself a new message system that I posted a bit further down this forum asking for help to improve it... Well, I made a little text appear under the red text that shows if there are new reports. The message shown is also red and says: "You have a new message". The text is of course a link. That?s one way to solve it.. I also made a count function in the menu link that shows me how many new messages I have. If I have 1 new message it'll show med "Messages [1]".
I think this is a good system.
... What I will do is mark-up the tables to be accessible by the best
screen readers which are capable of understanding sub-headers. This does not
involve a design change, just a slight change in the mark-up. There is
nothing stopping me or somebody else doing a special release designed with
some of the more popular but buggy screen readers in mind. It might even be
rather cool to have the only bbs system which can actually be used by people
with severe visual impairments. ...
Hmmm... don't understand what it means, but I'm sure it's great hehe.
