Thanks.

But when I try to pull up the functions page, the screen's blank,

http://www.homesteadhelpers.com/forums/ … ctions.php

and the index file contains only a "."...

http://www.homesteadhelpers.com/forums/ … index.html

Do I still need to install something here?

Thanks,
Toby.

You'll have to manually edit the php-file (and no, don't change the index.html-file).

Just curious, anyone figured out how to sign on to different gmail accounts via a firefox bookmark?

I know you can only view one account at a time, but having to sign on, sign out, sign back on again gets tiring.

No, I don't think it's possible as GMail is using cookies to track the user. You could use "GMail notifier" on one, and a bookmark for one. Though, I can't find anywhere to alter the settings in the notifier, don't know how it works :)

Haha! I'm an idiot. I just figured the invites would appear as e-mail. I then spotted "Invite 6 friends to Gmail" in the lower left corner :)

Haha! I thought it was odd that you got no invites during all this time :)

Your awesome!   Thanks for the invite to Gmail.

I was shocked when I saw the invite in my inbox.  Whoah.... Gmail invite! This rocks! .... I thought to myself.

You're welcome. I figured you would like it :D

Oh, that's weird. Maybe it's based on how much you use it?

I've got 3-4 invites since July 3. I "gave" one of these to myself (can't figure out which login-name to use :)) exactly a week ago, and it got three or four invites so far.

No you're not. Everybody should have a Gmail, it owns all other webmails I've ever tested! :)

Thanks Chacmool for the vote of confidence.  I have heard so many good things about GMail... I just can't wait to get my hands on an account.

Then wait no more! I've sent you an invite.

Sweet! :)

Hopefully it continue that way, also "outside" the tech-people-forums.

I don't see why they _must_ be included in the download package? I've already made some mods (poll, PMS...), and I don't even use them myself  on all forums.

As mentioned, is it so hard for users to install them, they can use PunBB++ instead.

True :) It should be implemented yes... though, I will probably wait untill 1.2 is out. I'll have to rewrite some of the mod then anyway.

1. Download the file here.
2. Follow the instructions in the readme, or html-file within the downloaded file.

I tried it, and named a user "http://punbb.org/". The posts are links yes, but they're linked to the profile as they should do. I don't see the problem here...

LOL! That's just plain stupid yes :) It's not even statistics they alter to their behalf!

Only there weren't 421 burners, but "the equivalent of 421 burners."

In fact, there were just 156. How did the RIAA account for this discrepancy?

"There were only 156 actual burners, but some run at very high speeds: some as high as 40x. This is well above the average speed," was the official line yesterday.

It probably did it when you edited the post. I saw them before you edited it...

Hello,
It's damage that it's not possible to log in when the forum is in maintenance mode. We need to modify the database directly.

It's supposed to be that way...

There's a turn_off_maintenance_mode.php-script in the installation-package you can use to turn it off.

Nice Mod guys!  :)

But i have a question! Is it possible to send an email to the receiver, if he becomes a Privat Message!

Like this: You´ve got a Privat message! Please click here, to read it: ............

And the link brings u direct to the privat message.

Greetings
Michaela

It's possible yes. I might look at it today if I've got the time to install a mail-server and fix all that.

I should remind everybody though that with a script like PunBB or any other web application the backend is everything. Writing the xhtml/css which puts the thing on the screen is relatively simple. Writing the kind of php code which Rickard has produced requires real talent.

Don't be shy :) I think "simple" is a big understatement when it comes to CSS :D

Sounds cool :)

Doesn't it work okay without CSS, or is it a java-problem?

Even if it has no limit, it's often easier to use some folders anyway. Use the id-number of the user that owns them as a subfolder and you don't have a "problem" anymore.

How does the updating work?

A perl script "opens" the forums and parse the html-code for statistics each night. There are some different ways to do it: parse the index-page, or extern.php. I'm also working on an own stats-file people could use to make it easier for me. This one could also include more info than I can fetch from the original files.

I'd be interested in seeing the Perl.  You didn't write it did you?  Sounds like what I heard someone else refer to as a 'scraper' for gathering content for an RSS feed.

Sure, I'll send you an email. Yes, I made it myself :)

So, it's only happens sometimes? (not all the time)

Feels like it's not PunBB's fault then...

In footer.php, change line ~158:

to

if (defined('PUN_SHOW_QUERIES') && $cur_user['status'] > PUN_USER)

I already asked some people but they said that they already 'gave' their accounts to someone else?

You must get an invite from someone who already has it. Google hands out invites to users when they feel it's time for some more users.

It's so smooth somehow. A couple of things:

1. You don't use folders and such stuff, you search for the mails instead. Much easier to find anything in a mail when you don't have to remember in which mail it was :)
2. As you see on this picture, mails are not stored one-and-one, they're bunched together to "conversations" (green = sent my me, red = received). This makes it much easier to follow something.
3. Much is loaded directly but hidden with javascripts (as my "readme-sample"). If i press 'Reply' on the page shown at the screenshot, it takes 1ms and I'm ready to write.

And so on... it's plain simple to use :)

Edit: You can also use 'Labels', and/or 'Star' a message to find it easier...
