You have two options there. 1.3 will have it built in and there is a mod for 1.2.

You can use img BBCode tags in a post. For any other way you'll need a gallery indeed.

Switch host. Honestly, a support staff with such horrible spelling shouldn't be allowed to exist. It sounds like a bunch of 13 year olds.

There is no reference to $cur_topic in header.php.
It is most likely a modification you have done.

That is the function you have to call indeed. Just post in the forum you changed and it should be done.
