Hello,

It's been a long time since last time I came, but today I come for an accessibility issue.

I am currently under treatment for a second uveitis episode within less than one year.  This eye inflammation causes photophobia, which means that I have pain under bright light, including when I look on a screen that displays a white-coloured page.
So, for the whole period of treatment, I darkened my Gnome desktop theme and I configured Firefox in order to use my own colours - darkgrey backgrounds with lightgrey texts and borders - and to disallow websites to use their own colours.  So for now, all Web pages are displayed in light texts on dark backgrounds with lightorange links.

So when I came to my PunBB 1.3 forum, I noticed that by the facts that all borders use the text color with my settings, we cannot see if there are new posts or not, and there's really nothing to help us know it, unless if I look at last post time.  The situation is the same here (1.4).  So, there's a loss of information for those who use a setting like mine because of photophobia or low vision.

Here's a screenshot of what I see on the index :
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25752921/pb-access-uveite04.png

To test by yourself, under Firefox : Tools > Options (Win) or Edit > Preferences (Linux), then go to "Content" category, then go to "Colors…" button, so you have a dialog window where you can choose background and text colors and allow/disallow websites to use their own colors.  To understand even more, try it for one week non-stop.

Thanks in advance.

Ishimaru

On which browser ? (with a screenshot)

And a minor thing: the copyright sign doesn't have a space before your name in footer...

I knew it that there was something weird in the line, but I couldn't find out !   I'll fix it in the next beta release.

Hello !

I just come to present you my first PunBB 1.3 style.

I first made it for a request, but since the project has aborted, I got the OK from the requester to unpersonalize it and distribute it.
So, I updated the style to 1.3.4 and I replaced the project's logo by the PunBB logo, and the folders (that were also using the project logo) by simple comic bubbles.  I also did some CSS touch-ups and added modified templates in order to manage the layout graphics more properly.

The style's name is id_summer - a name that was inspired by the vivid and punchy colors that are used in this style

Here's a screenshot of it :
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/ladykatt/th_id_summer2.png

For now, I tested only on Firefox 3.6 and Chromium (both on Ubuntu), and I need some help to test it on different browsers.

For this, here's the download link : http://ishimaru-design.servhome.org/dl/ … -beta2.zip

Thanks in advance !

Hello.

I just come to report you a bug.

While I was touching up my style, I wanted to style the maintenance page.  But I had formatting issue since I was having overlapping while using paddings.

While looking for what's wrong, I found out that the <div id="brd-maint"> appears twice in the maintenance page, and in the same times, causes a validation error since ids MUST appear ONLY ONCE in the same page.

Here is Oxygen's maintenance page generated source :

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="fr" lang="fr" dir="ltr">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Maintenance – Test board</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="http://localhost/sites/punbb-1.3.2/style/Oxygen/Oxygen.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="http://localhost/sites/punbb-1.3.2/style/Oxygen/Oxygen_cs.css" />
<!--[if lte IE 6]><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://localhost/sites/punbb-1.3.2/style/Oxygen/Oxygen_fix.css" /><![endif]-->
<!--[if IE 7]><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://localhost/sites/punbb-1.3.2/style/Oxygen/Oxygen_fix7.css" /><![endif]-->
</head>
<body>

<div id="brd-wrap" class="brd-page">
<div id="brd-maint" class="brd">

    <div id="brd-maint" class="main basic">

    <div class="main-head">
        <h1 class="hn"><span>En maintenance </span></h1>
    </div>
    <div class="main-content main-message">
        <div class="ct-box user-box">
            The forums are temporarily down for maintenance. Please try again in a few minutes.<br />
<br />
/Administrator
        </div>
    </div>

</div>

</div>
</div>

</body>
</html>

And when I compare it with other simplified pages (redirect and help), the error is located in the second div : there's an extra "t".  But as this part is hardcoded within the PHP code, it was easier for me to modify the first div, so I can style the maintenance page properly.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks !  That's what I was looking for !

Now, all is left is to replace the i-tchat logo, then once the style unpersonalized, I'll present it here.  I just don't know if I'll have time to present it before this Sunday since I go for vacation for a week, my godmother's sister lend us her camping trailer.

Hello !

One year and half ago, I made a forum style for a request.  Since the requester's plans didn't work as planned, the PunBB 1.3 forum was never born, so I decided to unpersonalize the style (by removing the website's logo and replacing the logo-shaped folders) and to distribute it freely on my website.

As I want to replace the main logo, I would like to use the PunBB logo instead, to make the style more generic.  I did some search, but I could find anything that matches with what I'm looking for.

I want to ask you if it's possible to get a transparent PNG copy of the PunBB logo ?  It's surely possible since I saw many PunBB/FluxBB 1.2 styles with the PunBB logo !

Thanks in advance.

Salut !

Hello.

I'm currently re-skinning my board (1.3.4) to give it more a "bar" look and so, I decided to use darker colors.

But while I'm modifying the colors, I struggled with one color that I couldn't find... until I find out it's located in oxygen.css instead of oxygen_cs.css !

It is located where is the checklist box, where we change moderation rights for a user.

Here is the code that's present in Oxygen.css :

.brd .checklist .checklist-item label {
    display: block;
    padding: 0 0 0 2.25em;
    float: none;
    height: 100%;
    background-color: #fff;
    }

As you can see, there's a color property.  It should have been in the _cs file instead, since it's a color.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot, I could finally finish the translation for my board !

Here's the French translation : pun_admin_broadcast_email_FR.zip

Really nice looking !

I think I'll study its CSS, especially for the navbar's positioning. ^^

Hello.

I just downloaded the extension and while I was translating it to French for my board, I found this spelling error :

'Err per page'        =>    'Number of e-mails per page can\'t be empty or nevative.',

Thanks in advance for fixing it.

Ishimaru

EDIT : I have some trouble translating this one, the sentence just sounds so... weird :

'Task finished'        =>    'The task finished e-mails messages has been sent.',

Hello.

Since the requests topic doesn't seem to be very active, I post a new topic for my request.

I did some research, but I couldn't find any extension to display the last reply title in the last message cell on the board index.

Because I have a member's request regarding such feature but he found only a MOD for 1.2.x
Here's his topic, even though it's in French : http://ishimaru-bar.servhome.org/viewtopic.php?id=75

Thanks in advance.

Hello.

I'm thinking about the idea of a table BBCode.  But since tables use several tags (<table>, <caption>, <tr>, <th>, <td>), could this extension work as well for such BBCodese ?  Because my tries I did up to now resulted in a PHP warning message.

Thanks in advance.

Even if I see that the post suspension is already in the request list, I support this idea of extension to be developed since my staff members want to implement the possibility to set a post suspension to users who break the rules, without having to use the groups management, thing that can be only done by admins.  Such an extension would make it possible for moderators to do it as well.

Even if I have PHP knowledge, I'm too new to PunBB's system to be able to code an extension.

Hello.

I'm sorry for not having given news.  I had put these works on my punbb forum under "standbye" while me and my refugee members were trying to contact a group of victims of another host, but since our attempts failed (post completely ignored by the group), I came back to work on my punbb forum.

So, I finally downloaded the 1.3.2-to-1.3.4 changed files only and I finally found the update database file.  So, I finally did the upgrade, first on my local board, then on the live board, without any problem finally.

I preferred the upgrade instead of hotfixes, because I wanted to work with an updated Oxygen style since there were a lot of CSS fixes, and I'm not sure the hotfixes would have corrected the style.
And I also updated the style I already began to work on, using the 1.3.2-to-1.3.4 hdiff page.

Thanks for the help anyway. smile

On my side, as my main OS is Ubuntu Linux, I use gedit, the distro's default text editor, for my PHP, XHTML and CSS development.  And when I boot on win XP, I use Notepad++
