Seems my site has been hacked or something. Almost all folders in my forum are gone, only cache & calendar & img are left.
I'm using 1.2.11, and only the forum is affected. The database seems intact too.

Here is my frontpage:
http://www.princefams.com/index.php

This is the forum:

I guess I should just upload the files and folder on my ftp again, but I'm concerned about why this happened.

I often browse my forum with Opera Mini, a great free browser for cell-phones. Works great even on a small screen, like my SE k750i smile

As far as I can see from the FAQ and other sources on the net, this is just a pyramid company (aka ponzi schemes), where new members investments fuels the payments of older members.
I'd be very careful investing money on this.
Like all pyramids, you can make money in the beginning, but one day the well is empty and the site closes down and you end up with a lot of money on an account that you can never get paid out.
Reminds me of World Games Inc.
Another such scheme aimed and net-users is called autosurf.

The internet versions of these companies take advantage of discussion forums to spread their advertisements.
Read the links below for more information, especially the google discussion is good smile

Filezilla is a great ftp-client. Open source, free and fully loaded with tools.

In Coppermine Gallery, there is an option for admins to go into "user mode". This allows you to see how the site works when viewed as a regular user, instead of having all the admin-options open.

In punbb, the forum appears much different as an admin, so sometimes when I'm asked questions it's hard to answer, cause it's working fine for me as admin.. but perhaps there is a problem for normal users.

So far I've just created another user for myself, like a test-pilot. But it would be a great addition to the forum to allow admins to enter "user mode".

I'm running the avatar gallery mod on 1.2.10, so it works fine smile

Upgrade complete, Hdiff took me 13 minutes from download to finished product, I'm getting good at this! big_smile

I update usually within 24 hours every time. The newsletter helps me stay up-to-date, so thanks for that smile

Thanks Gizzmo for the quick fix smile Works like a charm now!
Great mod, if I might add.

I have problems after upgrading to 1.2.9
When I want to switch between events and posts/topics, it won't change.
Any idea what might be causing this?
(posted this on punres too.. it's confusing with 2 threads about the same mods)

Change webhost. It's not their place to dictate which software you should use.

My punbb is centered with 800 pixels width. PunDOkuwiki is using the entire screensize. How can I make it fit into the 800 pixels?

I frequently get these mails from my members "I didn't get a mail when I signed in". Usually because it goes to their junk-mail folder I assume.
It would be really nice if there was an option for admins to "resend verification email" or "reset new random password" automatically.

Am I the only one with users who don't get their password emails?

Would it be terribly difficult to have the pictures parallell with the text instead of beneath it? It looks so much better and professional, I feel.

Thanks Patrick for the solution and other answers as well, it worked like a charm big_smile

I have a problem getting output from extern.php when including it in the main.tpl.
There is no output whatsoever.
I tried a simple

<?php include('http://www.site.com/forum/extern.php?action=stats'); ?>

but that didn't work.
So I read a little in this forum, and decided to try the pun_include, and I put this code in main.tpl:

<pun_include "http://www.site.no/forum/extern.php?action=stats">

But that didn't work either. What am I doing wrong?

I read through a bunch of other threads regarding extern.php, but couldnt find the answer hmm

- Lange lenker blir automatisk kuttet

- Ja

Måste man ha googleannons? big_smile
-Nei wink

Maybe a stupid question, but..

Is there any way to split up the forum in categories, by showing one category at a time?
For instance, is there a url that will show me only the forums under "international discussions" in here?

For large forums with many sub-forums, it is helpful to show only 1 category at a time, as well as making it easier to understand for the users.

ok, thanks I'll try that smile

That didn't really help at all..  any other suggestions?
Surely this is not the first time this has happened?

One of my users deleted the verification email by accident.
How can I resend it, or manually verify her account so that she can start posting?

Also, is there a time-out for the waiting verifications so that she can re-register afterwards perhaps (so that the un-verified registration does not block a new registration with the saeme email-address) ?

Lol, I started this exact thread in my own forum last week!
This guy is really amazing, no question.

Hey, i was one of the users who was hacked but... if we start to think... it was a real hacker, i mean, a well understood hacker, he broke the code, modified some things (title, subtitle) but didn't make a real damage (data loss, db loss, etc...). I'm not justifying, but certainly it could have been worst!.
So, as part of a comunity instead of trying to know where is he from or where he lives, why not try to know where is the security failure to fix it. I repeat, i'm not justifying his acts, but this things help us to make a better punBB. Thank god he was a "good" hacker.

Bye!

There is no such thing as a good cracker/hacker. If they want to help make punbb more secure they can join the community and help out without creating chaos. Even if they dont delete files they sure cause extra work and it is a major annoyance and problem.
It's like saying the terrorists in London are doing a good thing since they are helping London find security flaws.
I never understood people who have to go around and destroy the hard work of others. It's the lowest kind of people, in my opinion.
