Good question. Theres none provided for free unfortunately.

You can:

1)Use a free web hosting company that supports PHP & MySQL such as Lycos/Tripod, and prepare yourself to see Ad Banners.

2)Befriend someone who has some PHP-supported webspace & a spare MySQL database going. These are rare to find.

3)Pay for some hosting sad

If you choose the Lycos option, the only bad part is the banners on the right hand side, which you learn to ignore after a while. If you need any help getting set up let me know.

Is my english that bad? *grin*

yes I am ;-)

No, you're English is OK, but I recognised the German phrase structure:

"i search the mod or script" - I could just see that you were translating the phrase, "Ich suche..."

Hi Mike. Good luck, I'm sure you'll find this place a useful resource.

Oh, and the General Discussion Forum belongs to me, :x

smile

I imagine its possible, but wouldn't it be easier to just use something that was designed to be a Content Management System such as Mambo?

I've thought about doing this before, I can see how it may work, just haven't got around to working on it.

And for your last point: As a guess, Kennel will clear it up though, I think he will probably just update the homepage by just typing it out in Dreamweaver or whatever. There isn't ever much news and so a complete CMS seems a little OTT.

I'm probably wrong on all counts though!

Well no-one is going to want to have a long redirect time - I don't think all users would understand why it is there in the first place. May as well just have one standard one smile

Has anyone started on Puzzle Donkey 2? It can be found here, and is qite simply the most annoying/addictive/time consuming (delete where applicable) thing I've ever done on the internet.

It consists of 5 rounds of 20 puzzles in each round. I'm currently on 2.10, and I am completely stuck.

Anyone? smile

big_smile Could be a problem

Yummy, I can taste the weak orange cordial and jam sandwiches already smile

I can see a microdot down alongside most of the threads inside this Forum. Either I'm sick of posting about PunBB (not likely) or I need to get out more.

Either way, can someone else just make a few posts here just to make me look less....anorak-like smile

I've found that PunRes has quite a lot of downtime, I don't think its to do with a re-design, it's been like this for a while IMHO.

I would assume that you could look at the code in ViewForum.php (?) to see where the "Closed" appears before the Topic Name. Then take that code and put it into the farmost left column, where the "!" Symbol usually lives. Just replace the word "Closed" with an image link to a padlock or whatever you want to use.

I don't have any PHP knowledge, but that would seem logical to me.

Kennel?
