Well Yoda can stick in his pointy ear... (Thanks to Weird Al Yankovic for that)

Ok, well, it was a try...

Hey, Rickard, have you considered making a PunGallery? Well, seeing with moble phones with built in cameras becoming more popular, people need an easy way and effective way to display and share their images.
Ok, This mod is starting to get a little harder then I can handle. Maybe an expert can help?

Well, seeing that only a select few are using the open source goodness. we can't leave IE. I have been working on on css a bit, made a nice bg image for the time being. I'll leave IE filter tweaking for the weekend, thanks.

Why change the name?

To avoid overlap. The colloquial name "Firebird" is also in use by another open source project. While we don't believe our use of the Firebird name infringed on their trademark, we wanted to be responsive to the concerns of fellow open source developers.

I have been looking for that page. If I could remember the page, a quick look under the hood would solve the problem. I'll look for it. Thanks, I'll try what you suggested.

Not sure if this has anything to do with a css file, or other codeing, but I have seen a fixed image in the bottom right corner (done through css), but there is a content cell that cutes into the picture. But instead of picture covered, the content cell appears to be transparent, with a grey tint. Like I said before, I don't think this was done throuhg css. But if it can be done, can someone tell me?

I'm not sure how fesable this is, but, try knopppix std. Its a cd bootable version on linux that has apache already installed. the only thing you need to have is the website on your 2 gig harddrive. If it works, it works. The only problem I can see is driver issues, Try it, Linux is free.

I know that, but I guess some page would be better then a 404 page.

Just that you should know that your archives link isn't working. Wasn't sure where I should post this, so I thought here would be good.

Sorry for the delay on an update, but my linux box had a nasty hard drive failure, so I am currently working on that. Once I am done, I'll let you know how it goes.

Wow, now that I have read through this thread, I realize how off topic I threw everyone off. My appologies.

Oh, and the Moderator thing, I'm starting to think its a good thing.

Tedious work is trying to update one part of your site. Then after you have done so, you realize that something about the webpage design isn't right since the upgrade. Then you sit there trying to figure out what went wrongo.

I'm running Punbb on a freeserver. Listen, the faster the page loads, the less bandwith gets used, the more I stay out of trouble.

Both wrong. "tedious work" is what rich webmasters pay poor webmasters to do.

Haha, true. Or tedious work is what poor webmasters do them selves when they don't have a life besided codeing and website managment.

To be a webmaster, you must be willing to go through the tedious work of maintaing a secure, up to date site.

Its always better to do a fresh install. You are more likely to run into bugs or problems if you update one file at a time.

GD, or will Imagix work? I have apache and mysql installed on fedora linux. I have infact looked at hotscripts, and started to experement with the autothumbnail.

Well, I guess it would make sence for me to tell *modders* my needs:
Pictures should be uploaded to a seperate directory. I want the pictures to be displayed as thumbnails, but when clicked upon, open a new window that has an easy way to browse through the rest of the pictrues in that gallery. I only want galleries posted in certain topics, and only one gallery per post.
As far as the code mashing, I'll try, but I will need loads of help. Still learning php.

Any one started on this? Took a look at gallery, but I don't know how to make head or tail of it. Some help would go a long way.

For some odd reason, I feel that I am that someone that Dale is refering to. Weird.... I would NEVER do something like that...

A domain name is only a friendly name to a ip address. If you are running Punbb in your local network, just use the IP address for the computer that is running Apache and Punbb. IE: Just enter 192.168.0.5 or what ever your default gateway is.

Well, in order for PHP or anyother program to read MD5, it has to decrypt it. So therefore, it has already been done.

I'm on a free server that only allowes one mysql db. I have thought of converting my whole site to just the forums. But after thinking it over, this looks kinda cheap and unprofessional. I post a lot of topics and such, and now I am thinking of Making a we(blog). Now, I want a comment system in there as well, but I only want registered Users to be able to post comments. So, I was thinking If it was possible to show the article that I write and post that in a topic to appear on a webpage that is accesing the post from the mysql database. Of course I know this involves some hard coding, but I don't think I would mind that much. Hence, there would be a link for comments and so one and so forth, that is pretty straight forward. I'm learning php right now, so go easy. The eaisest way to discourage a noob from learning is by overwhelming them.

Oh, and the server has phpmyadmin, so that helps.

And if it seems like I am rambling, (which I probably am...), feel free to tell me, and I will try to explain my situation better. (Its late, I am tired, and I am waiting for the restroom to empty.....)
