I listen to this WEEK in TECH, Diggnation, Security Now!, Inside the Net, and a few other podcasts. I am a big fan, and even have my own. If you'd like to check us out, you can listen to The Weekly Roar here.

I laughed pretty hard at that. Shows how much of a nerd I am, though.

Web 2.0 is a bullshit name, though. Like Ajax... they just gave a name to some newer technologies. We certainly do enjoy labeling things.

I wouldn't use it, but maybe one of my users would like it. Perhaps if you continue to have issues with the code, you should post it here for people to have a look.

That certainly is pretty cool. Will you be including the flash games in the mod?

Why not just ban the names, using the ban feature in PunBB? Sure, they'll be able to register, but they'll never be able to post using the account wink

In fact, you could register the names yourself, so nobody can take them.

It looks very nice. I like your use of the "Quicktime" theme.

I have been looking for a MK:DS community, I think I have found one. :-D

Actually, I think that is a great idea.

I have never heard of Jyve before, though. Does it work well?

Thing is, in 1.3, the RSS features of PunBB will be improved so that you can syndicate the whole bulletin board, individual forums or even individual topics. With the introduction of that functionality will come the appropriate link tags.

That's great to hear, Rickard. I can't wait for this. I can finally run everything I do through RSS readers.

PunBB isn't a remotely hosted forum site. If you want a remotely hosted PunBB-based forum, check out Connor's MyPunBB.

damn, if only i actually wanted to have opera tongue

I like Opera 8 a lot. I don't like it enough to make it my default browser, but the text-to-voice function is fucking amazing. When reading articles, there is nothing better than to have the computer read it to you.

AM/PM is not too bad tongue neither are british dates (at least they make sense) american dates are totally messed up because they are out of order hmm

From the way I see it, the American method is set up logically from what part of the information you need first.

MM / DD / YY(YY)

I would never say "The 15th of January, 2005," but I would say "January 15th, 2005."

It's what I grew up with, so it makes the most sense to me.

I disagree, and think it would make complete sense, but if you all don't feel like it... I'll do it myself.

I don't think it would be appropriate. IRC is not an IM service, just look at how nicknames are chosen (per-session). Maybe a short bio field where you could type up information like that? Or you could just put it in your sig.

NickServ (or analogue there of), anyone? I mean, Jabber doesn't use a universal server, so I don't see why IRC shouldn't be an option. You can /msg in IRC, so I don't see a distinction.

The only word that describes it is "clean". Everything flows nicely together... Good job.

I think  a section in your profile where you can show what IRC network/server/channel you fequent would be really useful. I made a mock up, so you guys can see what I mean.

It seems to have removed my link to my Private Messages, but that's nothing a little "additional menu items" won't fix.

Otherwise, it worked perfectly.

Damn... I just modded 1.2.1, thinking it'd be a long while until the next update. Oh well.

Gizzmo please feel free to come to the punbb irc chat room (#punbb @ irc.quakenet.org) any time, theres quite a few people there who can help you fix bugs and hopefully get things done faster smile

Incase any of you guys don't have a good IRC client, you can use PJIRC (a java based client) on my site. You can reach it here.

Not impossible, but you'd have to write a coverter to change your database.

Rickard wrote:

Posting a PunBB -> IPB converter here would be like Microsoft posting a Windows -> Linux migration tool on their website smile

Why don't you ask the folks over at phpBB to make a converter for you?

Gizzmo, when you add an event in Firefox, the "Day" and "Year" functions do not work very well. In the Day drop down menu, you have to click and hold to select a day, and for the year, you have to select the text and continue to hold down the mouse button to edit the year.

I tried doing this in Internet Explorer and it works fine, but as Firefox takes up more and more of the market, you might want to check out the problem.

If the links were just a tad darker, it's be great. You might want to consider submitting it to PunRes.

I don't know, I just think it's stupid. The human obsession with speaking all these different languages just feels so "anti-evolutional". Imagine a world where we all spoke the same language and used the same currency.
