Dude...that sucks.  I feel for you man sad

Also, I want to voice similar sentiments about the Sony and the PS3. Sony really hasn't done anything to really warrant my money lately with some of their announcements, lies and the insane BS around the PS3. IF I ever get one (and that's a BIG IF) will be bought used and not new so I don't give Sony any more of my money.

We were one of the first 20 people (our Wal-Mart only got 20 units and we were number 18 in line so a LOT of people got turned around to find other stores to camp and wait in line) in our town to buy it, take it home and play it until all the other stores opened up the next morning big_smile  And yes, when we finally got home around 1am, we got it online, made our Mii's and checked out the Virtual Console and then played Wii Sports till 5:30am.

My brother told me about a few of his friends who camped out at Target to buy PS3s, all of whom planned to sell them immediately on eBay. One of them had actually paid someone else $300 for his spot in line. yikes

But geez, I thought I was being brave waking up at 4 AM to go to Fry's Electronics on Black Friday. I guess not. wink

Yes, the guy that was first in line for the Wii at our Wal-Mart had spent close to 4 days straight at Wal-Mart.  He first camped out the PS3 and after he got it, he sent it home with his brother (not sure if he was selling it or not, but I think he was one of the very few keeping it play it) and he stayed at Wal-Mart and started the line for the Wii.  No shower in close to 4 days a little much for me.  I don't even like going one day without a shower.

I had a problem very simliar to this as well....

My fix was this...

find...

$msg = $db->query('SELECT id, poster, poster_id, poster_ip, poster_email, message, posted, edited, edited_by FROM '.$db_prefix.'posts WHERE topic_id='.$id.' LIMIT 1') or error('Unable to fetch post info', __FILE__, __LINE__, $db->error());

change to...

$msg = $db->query('SELECT id, poster, poster_id, poster_ip, poster_email, message, posted, edited, edited_by FROM '.$db_prefix.'posts WHERE topic_id='.$id.' ORDER BY posted ASC LIMIT 1') or error('Unable to fetch post info', __FILE__, __LINE__, $db->error());

once again... if any PunBB admin or mods think this could cause any problems please let me know...

Extra Note: This fix works fine for my forum and members. smile

Here we go, I have been looking for this.  My only question is which file is this in to modify?  I don't recognize it.

It has?  Maybe my search skills aren't that good.  I haven't found it yet, but I will keep looking. Anyone know just where it is though?

EDIT:  Nevermind.  I found what I am looking for and now have a simple question there.

I'm getting one as soon as possible, possibly along with a 360 eventually. The first game I'm picking up will be Zelda, although I might end up getting that for my 'cube. Nintendo completely won me over again with the DS, so if they can continue to provide me with similar innovative & fun games for the Wii I probably won't need another console this generation smile

Ouendaaaaaaan!!

Yes.  The DS is simply amazing and I really did not expect to find such a good offerings of intuitive games from it either, but the DS has really stood up and amazed me.

I asked for one for Christmas. I have enough money to buy it, it's just that I had nothing else I wanted this year, so when I was asked, that was the first thing that came to mind.

I probably had a better chance of getting it myself though, I'm the only one I know willing to stand in line for hours to get it.

The Wii is definitely the best system this time around in my opinion. I can't wait to play Zelda, as I'm a major Zelda fan. It looks like your a zelda fan as well from your avatar.
I also can't wait for Animal crossing to come out next december.

Do you have Zelda yet? If so, what did you think of it?

Actually, my wife and I only had to wait 13 and a half hours in line to get ours at midnight. We were one of the first 20 people (our Wal-Mart only got 20 units and we were number 18 in line so a LOT of people got turned around to find other stores to camp and wait in line) in our town to buy it, take it home and play it until all the other stores opened up the next morning big_smile  And yes, when we finally got home around 1am, we got it online, made our Mii's and checked out the Virtual Console and then played Wii Sports till 5:30am.  wink

We ended up getting 3 more remotes and 2 extra nunchuks and yes, we did buy Zelda. I made an agreement with her that I would only play when she is there to watch as well and since we work opposite schedules, it's hard for us to play, but we are 9 and half hours into the game and just absolutely loving it.  It's everything you ever expected a Zelda to be and more...I was not sure about the wolf parts when I first heard about it oh so long ago, but once you run around and play as the wolf you see just how much fun it is. Zelda has been great fun and I'm always itching to play more, but I wait till we are together.

We also really want to get ExciteTruck, Call of Duty 3, Trauma Center and Avatar. I think some of those are going to have to wait till Christmas though.  Zelda and Wii Sports is more than enough to keep us occupied until then.

The Wii has been one of if not the best party games console we have ever had in our home. Hell, not even just for parties...we play it all the time with just the two of us and my 5 year old is absolutely GOOD at Wii Sports.  He's been brought up as a gamer as it is and plays alot already, but the Wii and him are a perfect match. We can't wait for my younger son to age a few more years so the 4 of us can play some Doubles Tennis together. Quality family time and even still, the youngest one watches and acts like us when we play so it wont' be long before he starts to learn it all too.

So we can discuss anything we want in here, right?  Anyone else that visits these forums have the Nintendo Wii?  It's a great system if you don't, truely unlike any of the other systems that you may have played to date. Wii Sports as a pack in title was one of the smartest things Nintendo could do as it truely shows what the remotes are capable of and leaves you thinking what else future developers can do with the games for this system.

Another reason I ask is that I am looking to see if anyone wants to exchange their Wii friend codes.  I've got several people added already and I love getting new Mii's from other people and sharing mine.  My wife and I check out the Mii's every night before we sit down to play some Wii Sports.  Boxing is great and even if she gets frustrated (she's not the most athletically inclined) the Tennis gets a lot of play time.  As does the bowling which is just awesome all around.

Big thumbs up to the Wii if anyone was considering a purchase.  I'd HIGHLY suggest getting one...you won't regret it.

Ok, here's the deal.  I don't know why this started to happen either, but it's really kind of annoying.  I haven't made any changes to the coding of the site for a few months now, but about two weeks ago something odd started to happen.

I use Connor's Miniportal setup to bring posts to the front page.  Been using it for some time.  Now all of a sudden, I can make a post and it shows up on the front of the site in the miniportal with no problem.  Someone else posts on that topic and I reply to that post. Suddenly on the front page, my reply is displaying on the front of the site and not the actual first post like it's always been in the past.

Like I said, I haven't made any changes to the coding or anything like that in at least 2 or 3 months. Everything has been working just fine, but this just started recently and I have no idea as to why. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a link to the site in question and you can look at what is happening yourself.

My site  Please, any advice or solutions would be great.

I'm using FireFox 2.0   I don't see any issues or differences, but maybe I'm blind?

hhhmm...seems to have corrected itself for some reason.  I really don't know.  *shrugs*

I think it's the news plugin.

Possibly this is an issue with my host, but really not sure.  I feel like it might be something else.

On my forums, I have had EasySmilies installed for some time now.  I had set up a bunch of smilies and they have all worked just fine. Until recently....now I have maybe 7 or 8 smilies that don't show up on the list above the quicktext box and if you do click on them or type it in, you don't get the image to come up in the forums.

I checked the files and downloaded them to my computer and the image shows up just fine. I deleted one and uploaded it again just to test it and I got the same issues.  Anyone have any idea as to what would cause this all of a sudden?

Link to the forums in question

Thanks.

oh and jeckyl yes that would work properly but there is no need to remove the <p> tag just the <br />'s and maybe arrange it the way you want it such as spacing ect. You would also want to adjust the width of the box and simply include the file after <pun_status> in your header tongue btw my new modification has been released. Its called PunPortal. What it is is a more advanced portal page. Based off of the punbb miniportal. comes with feature filled blocks that collect statistics from the database. You can view the demo here: http://www.fatalgamers.org/forums/

Download it here: http://www.punres.org/viewtopic.php?id=2279

I like it.  It looks nice.  I can't get to the download link right now and I think that's because of work, but are there other blocks as well as the ones on that demo or is it just the ones on the demo?  Which by the way, I like it.  Looks and feels pretty sharp I think.

If memory serves me right, it has been attempted, but if it was ever successful, it was not made known back here.  So really, I think at this time it hasn't been finished or anything.

If you are still having issues with padding problems from IE to FireFox, it's because of how they treat padding and margins and how the two browsers interpret the css.  To be honest, FireFox is the one that is displaying the code properly and IE is not.

I honestly don't remember it enough to give a good explanation, really sorry.  You might run a search for box hack or something like that as it sounds like you are having that kind of an issue.

What version of PunBB are you using?  IE7 had some css problems with the header but I thought it was fixed in PunBb 1.13 or 1.14?  Maybe I'm wrong though.

I use that same miniportal setup and I have a login block on my left side. Different from this one, does anyone have this particular one up and running somewhere?  I'd like to see it and the differences in this one from the one I have right now.

I don't recall ever seeing this as a feature anywhere, but curious if anyone has ever had use for it or done anything about it.  I find that it would be very handy to know when the last time someone logged in to the site was. Might make it easier for user management and try to weed out the ones that are inactive users.  I have some users that log on almost daily, but post almost never and I would hate to delete those people.

Any way to find out when the last time someone logged in was?

Humorous, but I'm sure that an architect has their own headaches to worry about when coming up with their designs. wink

My smiley menu? I tried it out and only had to press tab 3 times (for the BBCode help links)...

Wow.  My bad.  You are right.  I don't know what I was thinking...I thought the smilies were below the post box and yeah...I was on crack.  Hehehe.  Tab 3 times if you are on a post reply page and tab once if you have the quick post enabled. I guess that will work.

Yeah...a few tabs work. Depends on the forums as to how many tabs you might have to press.  Mine for instance has the easy smilies on it so when I hit tab, I have to tab through all the smilies there before I get to the submit button.  It all depends on the forums I guess.
