1. You can disable email verification in Admin/Options

Don't know offhand, I don't use it. Post your question in the thread we gave you above. The mods author Chacmool will tell you all you need to know.

You mean order the topics according to the date the thread was started not according to the date of the last post. That way the latest news item goes to the top even if there are later replies to an earlier news item. I can see why that would be logical for a news forum. Maybe some clever person has a way to do it.

1. Good question. I would like to know the answer as well.

2. There is a mod http://punbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=3087

3. No need. If you have a style which you want everyone to use just remove all the other stylesheets.

Lots of things would be great tools to have for a few people but if they were all added PunBB would end up as a vBulletin or IPB clone. For my money the greatest tool is the pleasure of being able to click back and before between pages without having time to write a short novel while I'm waiting for them to load.

Browser wise, save yourself a lot of bother and just install Mozilla for Linux.

Connorhd: how can it wrap, there are no white spaces to wrap on. Try posting the same string here (and in most other forums) and see what happens.

PS. Well done, I see you've just discovered an actual bug.

Try posting a long string without any spaces as normal text. It should just get chopped off without messing up the layout.

do you want us to post bugs? or not to bother yet as its not finished?

Don't bother as far as the xhtml/css is concerned at the moment except if you spot a difference in rendering between browsers.

Not a bug just not finished yet (at least in the current development release)

PM systems also depend on both parties wanting to use it. I get emails from forum admins telling me my PM inbox is overflowing because people send me messages but I don't use the PM system so I never see them.

No I have never used it.

I would replace it with "Show todays posts" which shows all posts within the last 24 hours or Chacmools suggestion for guests and those who have not loggon on.

Frames. Ah yes now I remember. People used to use those back in the 20th Century smile

As far as styles are concerned, you will loose those even if you wait for the final release of 1.2 as the stylesheets are completely different.

I am going to try and come up with something to make the transition easier but that will have to wait until 1.2 is much closer to official release.

Smaryts: That was my error which I think has now been fixed.

Nobody has even noticed that the text can be resized in IE.  I guess all early adopters are Firefox users with perfect eyesight.

Oh. I forgot to mention. The residents of
Rawaki Islands: Enderbury Kiribati (+13)
Line Islands: Kiritibati (+14)

They should be equally delighted. Somebody will tell me now that that they are uninhabited.

All the above were added to 1.2. PunBB is set to be a dominant force on Lord Howe Island.

Just a suggestion on the css:
Is it possible to align the signatures at the bottom of the posts when there isn't enough text in them to push the sig down?

Looks a bit better that way imo.

Yes it might look better. No it isn't possible, not easily anyhow. Remember you are dealing with divs here not table cells. The bottom of the div is the end of the content, the rest is just blank space.

Just to reiterate what Rickard said. Don't waste time fiddling with your own styles. You will notice things that don't work or seem like duplication. Thats not because it's broken, it's because it's not finished. In fact the archive is already obsolete at least as far as the styles are concerned.

Latest update. Languages now changed to Klingon, Romulan and Borg.

From what I read in their forum it appears to be a custom made text file based system. The admin was asking for suggestions for a better system and mantisbt was one of the scripts mentioned.

The really good news from those stats is the rapid demise of IE5. There is a theory that those few die hards who are still using NS4 are all website designers testing for NS4 compatability.
